Performance Lab Berlin is a multidisciplinary performance project, based in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 2006 by choreographer/ dancer Shannon Sullivan and writer/ performer Joey Juschka.
We create our own -> productions and bring them onto the stage; our performancehave schedule you'll find under -> upcoming. The newest piece by Shannon Sullivan/ Performance Lab Berlin is -> Broken: Part I. It premiered in March 2010.
We offer regular -> workshops on different topics of improvisation & physical theater.
Last but not least, we present the annual event -> SWAN Day Berlin, the Support Women Artists Now Day.
As the word "Lab" suggests, our focus is on experimentation and the discovery of unusual combinations with powerful effects. We value openness, communication and the process of creation, not just the final product.
Hence we started the series -> Trial & Error, in which we present to the audience pieces at various stages of their creation - beginnings, middles - come and have a look.
In the first year of its existence Performance Lab Berlin has presented three productions which were created using its characteristic "Lab - Process" -> archive
Also the 2009 production by Shannon Sullivan/ Performance Lab Berlin, -> 13 poems in a body was well received.
